The Maternal Attendance Unit of Atma Jaya University of Yogyakarta (MPK-UAJY) will hold a seminar with toik, “Forgiveness and Reconciliation: Considering the Indonesian Future” held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Auditoriium Floor IV, Teresa Building, UAJY III Campus.
As a speaker is Prof. Bernard Adeney Rissakota (FH UGM) and Dr. Baskara Tuluswardaya, SJ.
This seminar is motivated by the problems of state violence in Indonesia past such as G 30 S, Tanjung Priok, Semanggi I and II, May 1998, Papua, Maluku, Poso, etc. which are continuously questioned by human rights activists and victims and their families. Meanwhile, it must be admitted that until now the Government of Indonesia has not been able to solve it because of the various issues involved in it. Through this seminar we will discuss the importance of “forgiveness” and “reconciliation” as two interrelated actions. Reconciliation relies on the existence of forgiveness. Conversely, forgiveness without being followed up by reconciliation will be void. Through this seminar is also expected to come up with concrete and relevant ideas for solving problems of state violence in the past.
