A MoU has been signed on Friday 15 March 2014 between Faculty of Law UAJY and Judicial Commission at First Campus Alfonso Building. UAJY was represented by rector Dr. R. Maryatmo, MA., whereas Dr. Suparman Marzuki, S.H., M.Si. represented Judicial Commission. The purpose of this cooperation is to encourage institution improvement and role enhancement to strengthen judicial institution’s independence, transparency and accountability in law enforcement. The cooperation involves joint research on topics agreed by both parties; Scientific Meetings in the form of seminar, public lecture, discussion, and workshop that will bring advantages to the people, university, and judicial commission; education and training for employees and staffs; journal and books to be published periodically; socialization and information exchange in order to improve the performance of each institution.
In his opening speech, Imam Anshori Saleh, SH. M.Hum., Head of Institutions Cooperation and Information Service expressed that not only visits and collaboration with foreign institutions; Judicial Commission also expands their network by working together with NGOs, Youth Organizations, Universities, Profession Organization, including journalists. In conjunction with the upcoming election, cooperation between Judicial Commission with Youth Organizations is intended as a form of socialization and campaign to preserve and uphold the honor, dignity and the work of judges and law enforcement, to promote the participation in reporting and monitoring the work of judges in Indonesia, and other programs envisaged for the progress of the nation.
