A MoU was signed between Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta and APTIKOM consortium on Friday (7/3/2014) at Grand Quality Hotel Yogyakarta. Also a part of this collaboration was STMIK Amikom. The Mou was signed by Dr. R. Maryatmo, MA. as the representative from UAJY, Prof. Dr. M. Suyanto, MM from STMIK Amikom, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Richardus Eko Indrajit, MSc., MBA.,M.Phil.,MA. as representatives from APTIKOM.
After the signing ceremony, it was the handover ceremony during which the Director of Graduate Studies STMIK Amikom and Head of Information Engineering Graduate Program handed the student card to Director of Graduate Studies Consortium APTIKOM which will then be distributed to students of Post-Graduate Distance Study (Pendidikan Jarak Jauh/PJJ) Program APTIKOM. In this occasion, a demo of distance study was performed using teleconference with post-graduate students throughout Indonesia.
In his opening speech, Coordinator of Higher Education Institution (Koordinator Kopertis) Area V, Dr. Ir. Bambang Supriyadi, CES DEA expressed his appreciation towards Director General Of Higher Education regarding his mandate on APTIKOM consortium with UAJY and STMIK Amikom. He reminded that Distance Study Program is different from Outer-Domicile Education Program (Pendidikan Diluar Domisili /PDD). PDD can be conducted if the major has met accreditation requirements but constraint by regency border. Whereas PJJ is a distance study, conduct for the first time from Yogyakarta to various areas in the country for Information Engineering Graduate Program. With this method, lecturers can pursue higher education without leaving their teaching job and therefore, cut down expenses. (awan 12/3/2014)
