Tuesday, March 1, 2016, the Office of Cooperation and Promotion received a visit from a Spanish study consultancy, Senai, headquartered in Barcelona and has a branch office in Jakarta. Ms Clara Gabriel – Managing Director of Senai and Ms. Christina Gomez, Ph.D. introduced Spain as one of the countries that could be considered as a place of student study choice. They decided to visit UAJY after attending EHEF (European Higher Education Fair) 2015 at Royal Ambarukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta, which was held last October. During the exhibition, some UAJY students came to their booth and from there they learned that UAJY students are not familiar with colleges in Spain.
Currently UAJY does not yet have cooperation with universities in Spain, but has a Spanish course at the Office of Language and Culture Training (KPBB). Darmasiswa Scholarship Program from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia can be used by Spanish students to learn the language and culture of Indonesia for free, even given pocket money every month. This program can also be used by students who will transfer credit in UAJY. Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, as one of the universities trusted to manage the darmasiswa program, is ready to accept the Spanish students.
